Bored of Literary Readings? Novel Presentations Get You Down? Author Authority A Pain in the Ass?

For one week John Holten, editor of Djordje Bojic’s last seminal work To Warmann (Broken Dimanche Press, 2009) will read the book in its entirety, accompanied by Milos Lubarda (The LGB Group). Using a mode of reading inspired by Bas Jan Ader (1943-1973) they will together perform a reduction of the text, signalling a translation through the body, over time, of Bojic’s work, resulting in a redux, a condensio, a last homage to Bojic who never got to see his work published.

1. The reader will invariably drink from a glass of water at some point(s) in time.
2. The first word following such a sip of water will be picked up and transposed onto the gallery wall.
3. When the reader closes the book at the end of each reading-session, audience, viewer, listener are invited to enter into play with these text-objects to create new text-constructions in anyway they see fit.
4. Each text-construction will then be dated and exhibited on the gallery wall for the duration of this chapter, before being compiled into an official redux edition of To Warmann.
